Any growing family, sooner or later, will discover a need for more rooms when space becomes tight. NOMS, our tiled corner of the world dedicated to food and travel, has felt this pinch acutely, and, as is the natural way of things, we’ve decided to take up residence on Substack, too. Think of it as our summer home, except we plan to stay year-round.
NOMS, the brainchild of those who live in service of food and travel, buoyed by incurable exploratory impulses that sit restlessly in the bones, is ready to stretch out a bit. Here you’ll find longer reads that wander far beyond the plate: in-depth interviews with tastemakers exploring the increasingly tendriled worlds of food, art, fashion and design as part of our new series Good Taste; dispatches from distant tables; casual chats with chefs at the pass; meandering conversations with smart and spirited people taking unconventional paths in the food and wine worlds; and travel guides to places we find ourselves returning to again and again.
Yes, there will be plenty to look at, and yes, plenty to eat. Expect us to remain curious, now settling into spaces we’ve yet to fully explore. After all, this is what happens when a family moves into a bigger house.
